This necklace is made of almost 190 Genuine Swarvoski Crystals in 3 differnet

graduated sized and makes a beautiful necklace for a wedding, dinner party, prom, etc.

I made this Pearl and swarvoski crystal choker for one of my best friends who is

getting married this Saturday, her gown is draped in pearls and I thought this would

be beautiful with it.

This is a beautiful and elegant Swarvoski Crystal and Rondelle Ring.

Birthday card for my brother Phil

My brother Phil had a birthday on Sunday and I went to my moms to see him for the day for birthday lunch. He is a personal trainer in Ft. Lauderdale and is very muscular. He turned 49 and I could resist this card for him. I put inside. "Nothing lasts forever". lol He loved it and everyone got a good laugh with it.

Giraffe valentine

I just love how this card came out, even though I debossed the swiss dots folder rather than embossing it. I didn't want to trash the whole card since I had already cuttlebugged the flower and put the pearls on. I love this stamp and love it in black rather than coloring it and taking away from the flower. Stamp is by Great Impressions and the flower and swiss dots embossing are Cuttlebug folders from Provo Crafts.

Hi everyone....
I have a very special request.... A good friend of mine is working on a very important charity event and I need your help. The charity event is the 4th annual "When Angels Purr" and all monies made will go to the HSSC. (Humane Society of Sarasota County). What I need from you are handmade cards, note cards etc, with cats or kittens on them. No dogs, just cats... They can be blank inside or have verses, etc. Sympathy cards for pets would be nice, or just birthday, thinking of you, etc. with cat or kittens on them.

A couple of ATCS

Tomorrow is our local ATC swap that we hold at our local stamp store Bettys Stamp Pad. We have about 17 people that come each month plus about 3 people that drop their books off that work and can't attend. We have gotten some beautiful artwork from everyone and I add more and more to my collection of 10,347 ATCs. :) Can you belive it?? Going to start wallpapering the wall with them I think. lol

Valentine Card in untradional colors

This valentine card was made using a technique I used in Technique Junkies called Pearlized Gesso. I went out of the box and decided not to go with the usual red and white valentines cards. Stamp is by Paper Bag Studios and added a flower and a piece of purple sheer ribbon.

Last minute Christmas Cards

I was actually guilty of mailing some boxed Christmas Cards this year... I didn't have time to make all the ones I wanted to but I had some special people that got handmade cards. The first one here is my favorite and very easy with a cuttlebug folder, a piece of ribbon and some stickles. Some more 3d decoupage on a couple of others and a beautiful medallion with liquid pearls from Fred, She Said.

A friend asked me to make a beautiful elegant card for his parents for Christmas and I wanted to share it here on my blog. I used some gold mirror paper, the cuttlebug christmas tree embossing folder and added some ribbon and flat back pearls just for a little added touch.

Christmas card Time again!!

Going to start posting some of my christmas cards. Most of them are made with 3d decoupage sheets that are made by members of a card group that I'm in. I love using the cuttlebug folders for backgrounds and they look awesome on mirror paper as you can see. I'm also a huge lover of Stickles and like to add that to most of my cards for some glittery shine.

Had a tough weekend after surgery

The weekend was tough, wanting to eat, missing food, but it will get better. I have been on liquids now for 15 days and have 6 more days to go. Tiffany at Dr. Bass's office said my hunger is more mental than physical right now. The swelling has went down quite a bit in my stomach and I'm alot more comfortable. I see the doctor on Thursday and can't wait to weigh in and see how I'm doing. I will post the end of the week and let you know how I did. thanks again to everyone for their posts, comments and emails on my decision to do the Lapband Surgery. It took me a while to decide to do it and after having a few regrets, I'm feeling better about the whole situation. I'm excited to lose the weight and feel good about myself and be able to wear some really cute clothes. Can't find many "cute" things in a 4X. lol

For those of you that are doing it the conventional way of exercising and watching what you eat, my brother Phil is a Personal Trailer and has a very informative and helpful site full of tips, stories, etc.

I'm home from the hospital and doing well

Just wanted to pop on and let everyone know that I'm back home and doing good. Still in alot of pain but the surgery went well. The swelling in my stomach is the most painful and the incision for the port on the upper left side of my stomach. When I got home on Tuesday evening, I was hurting so bad that I was wishing I hadn't done it and wanting a burger and fries. lol.... I know its just the pain and discomfort and when that goes away and I start losing weight, I'll be glad that I did it.
I'll be posting next week when i see the doctor on Thursday for my first weight in since going on liquids the end of November.
Thanks again for the love, support and inspiration i have received.

Well.... The Journey has begun

My weight loss journey has begun. Alot of my blog subscribers have asked me to document my progress so its starting now. My lapband surgery is Monday morning at 6 am in Hollywood, FL with Dr. Thomas Bass. I am very nervous, scared and excited all at the same time. I have been waiting for this for a long time and I'm looking forward to posting pics every few months of my progress. I have been on liquids since last Sunday morning and will be on liquids for 2 more weeks after sugery, then I can graduate to soft purreed foods and then regular foods. The Fort Myers News Press here in town is going to be doing an ongoing story with updates on my progress also and I will be posting those links here. Thank you to everyone that has helped me to get to this point and thanks for all the support, inspiration emails and phone calls, I appreciate them all more than you know. Watch for future updates. I have attached my "Before" photos so you can see where I'm starting.

A beautiful new Swarvoski Crystal Pendant I made

I learned to make another beautiful pendant. This one takes 36 crystals and 32 tiny beads for the bail and arond the crystals. Its beautiful isn't it?? I have also attached a photo of the jump ring jewelry I learned to make, this time a beautiful necklace.

Isn't this the coolest stamp. The deer stamp is by Penny Black and you just put one color ink on it and when you stamp it, its 3 different colors... A friend of mine told me about the stamp and I just had to have it. I used vintage glass glitter on the tree at under the deers feet to look like snow.

I took a class at our local Potomac Bead store in Downtown Fort Myers and made this beautiful bracelet made of jump rings and swarvoski crystals. I really enjoyed the class and have already started a second bracelet.

This is the article that came out Tuesday and when my surgery date gets set, the News Press is going with me to the hospital in Hollywood, FL and following me through to the end when I reach my goal. Cards I made yesterday

This beautiful card was made using the "Poinsettia Swirl" stamp from Impression Obsession. I colored it with watercolor pencils and pop dotted the poinsettias to give it dimension. I also used White Opal Liquid Pearls.

These beautiful stamp images are by Stampin Up and I used watercolor pencils and a waterbrush to add the color. I distressed the edges of the cornacopia and the Give Thanks and pop dotted the sentiment.

Altered Board Book Page 2

Well I finally finished my second 2 pages in the board book challenge with next-generation-stampers. We had to do orange at the top and green at the bottom with a wavy red line across. Then put a brown stain over the top of that, make 3 handmade flowers and find a favorite flower quote. Then we just added some finishing touches to finish the pages to our liking. I really like the way this one came out.

Altering a Book for the first time

My dear friend Gerrie told me about a challenge to really put me "out of my box" with a group we are in at http://www.next-generation-stampers.com/ so I had to give it a try. Starting with a board book, we have to do step by step directions posted by the hostess Trish. I am very happy with the way my first 2 pages came out and I'm getting ready to start on the next set. I'm a little behind but hope to catch up this week. I am really learning to do different things that I normally wouldnt' have thought of doing with paints, etc. After coloring the pages, we had to find a photo in a magazine and put that on, add some slices of paint, then pick a letter and put on the book, then we had to find a quote that started with that letter. Lastly adding an image to do with that letter and I have always dreamt of going to Paris so thought the stamped image was fitting, ending it with 3 metal embellishments.

Thanks to a dear art friend from online, Melanie Hall, I have become addicted to doing Deco Books. I have an art group on yahoo and we do alot of ATCs, 4x4s, Inchies, Twochies, Mini Atcs, Moo Cards, altered items and deco books. I have attached photos of 2 of the Deco Books I have done with the group. One was "Free Expressions" deco book which I chose the theme of "Angels". The other is a deco swap we did titled... "Paris". The art inside is just wonderful and its fun to make a book and mail it around to several people to add a page and get a beautiful book of unforgettable art back to treasure a lifetime.

Altered Birdhouses

We just had a birdhouse mingle challenge in the Paper Imagery Designs group that I'm in. We had to alter birdhouses, I chose to do 3 of them and these are the ones I came up with. This was my first time altering anything and am pretty proud of how they came out. I will be mailing these to 3 different new owners and i have received 3 from other members too. I made this card for a friend of mine using the new cuttlebug embossing border folders. I used White brilliance and rubbed it over the embossed area and added flat pearls to the flowers. These ATCs were made using the Tim Holtz Mona Lisa ATC stamp. I made the backgrounds from a technique I learned from the current newsletter at Technique Junkies. I added a flower and dew drop to her hair.

3d Decoupage Oriental Plate

This is a 3d layered oriental plate. I sprayed the plate with very fine glitter spray and then added the decoupage to it. Comes with a matching stand.

Floral Border punch cards

These cards were made with the new Fiskars corner and border punches and the cuttlebug disney oval frame. i also used the 3d pre cut decoupage flowers from Ecstacy Crafts.

Dry Embossed/Cuttlebug/Paper Tole 3d card

This card was made starting with an embossing board from The Glitter Girls and then I added a center oval after putting the mirror gold paper through the cuttlebug machine. I then added a 3d paper tole layered flower to the center. I added a butterfly which I made with a peel off sticker on cardstock and cut out. Also added peel off corners, borders and dots.

Trapeze Card

These cards are really fun to make and they are so beautiful and elegant. The beads added a special touch. The card is made with a metal trapeze template and you thread it and add beads, then I added a 3 dimentional/paper tole flower to the center and some peel off corners and borders.
